He is currently on the Board of Governors of the Cuyahoga <br />County Police Chiefs Association and was President of the Association ir. <br />19ci8. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police and <br />served on different committees, presently Chairman of the Communications <br />Committee. Bill is also a member of the International Association of <br />Chiefs of Police, the FBI National Academy Associates, the Metropolitan <br />Crime Bureau, the Crime Clinic and the Associated Public-Safety Communi- <br />cations Officers. <br />Bill couxats many, many Villagers as close friends and his departure <br />comes as a major loss to the Village. He states, "it has been a very re- <br />warding a_nd eventful career." <br />Mayor Beebe commented, "Bill Shortle, I rate, as one of the greatest <br />administrators I have met. He commands top respect from department member:. <br />and all of the personnel in the "Hall." The Chief has been great to work <br />wit.'n and in every respect has been a loyal member of our staff. Anew <br />Chief will be appointed under our Civil Service and Charter Regulations <br />and ari examination will be held at some date irr the future." <br />
