2~~1
MINUTES OF THE REGUTiAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD
November 20, 1978
The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session on Monday,
NOvember 20, 1978 at 8:05 P.M. in the Village Hall. Council President,
Vince Busa presided.
The pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Roll Call: P:~:esent: Messrs. , Bennett, Boger, Bordonaro, Busa, Grogan,
Flynn and Mrs. Hanus
Absent: None
Also Present Were: Mayor Beebe, Messrs., Amendola, Feneli, Foltz,
Hovancsek and A/C Litman, Relic
OPEN PORTION•
Mr. George Henwood, 6482 Foxboro Drive, expressed appreciation to the
Village. Recreation Committee for the fine Halloween activities offered
this year.
Mr. Jack Burkes, 6213 North Woodlane, stated that he had been at the
meeting on September 26th-~=to report the flooding he and his neighbors
were subjected to because of Mr. Fiordalisi's construction with railroad
ties. At that time, Mr. Hovancsek was to check the situation over and
make a recommendation. Nothing has been done as yet and he asked when
some action could be expected.
Mr. Busa said he had the impression this had been done and asked Steve
to comment.
Mr. Hovancsek stated that he is in the process of getting a report together,
which is 95% complete, and apologized for the delay. There is quite a bit
involoved - they-have cross sectioned the stream and shot elevation of
the houses and checked against the Flood Zone Map.. There is a problem
but a hasty cecision can't be made. My report will be done this week
and then i.t will be submitted to the Federal Insurance Corporation for
their evaluation and approval of the work to be done. This will take
several months.
Mr. Grogan commented he had seen the construction and apparently it was
done to enable Mr. Fiordalisi to build his garage. He wondered if the
ties couldn't be removed and the dirt sloped.
Mr. Amendola stated that Mr. Fiordalisi had been. told to remove the ties
and he had agreed to regrade the area when the garage is finished. No
landscaping is to be done until this matter is resolved.
Mr. Bur]tes commented that the garage doesn't have to be completely finished
before the grading c.an be done. He expressed concern that this would
be delayed and he would still get flooded again. Asked why;%the job couldn't
be stoped until the grade work is donev~"'
