Mra Schmidt challenged the validity of Ordinance 72-25 <br />. because other Ordinances that could come up for a'tsecond reading" did <br />not,lilce ichis particular one didn't. Mr. Edelman said that Ordinances <br />that were read will have to show that in the minutes. Mr. Braun, as <br />seconded by Mr. Davis moved that the mi.nutes of July 31, 1972 meeting <br />be approved-and accepted as written. <br />Ro11 Ca11: AYES: Mayor Beebe, Messrs. Bordonaro, Braun, Dav3.s, and Leech NAYES: Mr. Schmidt <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Old Business: None <br />New Business: <br />Additional Street Liqhting: The Mayor stated the recommendation was. <br />made on the part of Safety & Service as augmented by Chief 5hortle and <br />Staff for lights at intersections. Lighting should be in certain areas <br />such as Worton, Hemingway, Joyce, et al. There are two means of funding <br />--general fund and assessments; however; people may or may not want or <br />may or may not want to pay for. Mayor Beebe was a little critical of <br />Counciles not having acted as it's been reviewed three times. Suggested <br />matter be tackled by a survey per areao Mr. Leech sug?ested the "Voice <br />of the Village" as a vehicle to see if people want adda.tional lighting, <br />Mrv Relic stated special assessments would be required for the non-main <br />roads, but enough money available in general fund for main intersections. <br />Mr. Braun said there is a safety factor here more so than just a cost <br />factor. <br />RESOLUTIO3V: Mr. Leech, seconded by Mr. Braun, intraduced the following <br />RF,SOLUTION: "RESOLVED THAT COUNCIL AUTHORIZES THE PURCHASE AND 2NSTALL- <br />ATION OF A7DITIONAL STREET LIGHTS OYV SOM CENTER ROAD AND A PORTION OF <br />WILSOiV MILLS ROAD, AS SHOWN ON PAGE 2-OF THE REPORT OF POLICE CHTFF <br />SHOz '.''LE DATED JUNE 71 1972 FILED WITH COUIJCILy THE COST TO BE PAID OUT <br />OF `Trii STREET LIGHTTNG FUND." <br />Mr. Schmidt suggested "Resolution" be put on first reading. Was agreed <br />to draw up a separate-Resolution for side streets. <br />Mr. Leech, seconded by Mr. Braun, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of law requiring a"Resolution" be read on three'separate occasions.
