(3) Pair. Lockemer reported that a check for $16,500.00 had been sent to the Young Fire Equipment Company. [~le still owe them the amount of $6,950.00 Tlie Clerk-Treasurer received $5,900.00 - a release of 60% of local government funds from the County Treasurer, in accordance with a Journal Entry approved by the Supreme Court. The 196 Appropriation Ordinance will be presented at an early date. Air. D`Agostino will contact the State about t~so conditions on SOPi Center Road: the bend by St. Bartholomew's Church needs widening and the hole i.n front of P4ay- field Center School needs repairing. Tf the State does not immediately take care of the hole, we will repair it ourselves, Gravel has been placed on the sidewalks east of SOM Center P.oad, on Wilson dills Road. 'The widening of SOAI Center. Road was discussed. IKayor Busa thought it wise to get something in writing concerning the date. Chief l~tejcl has plans for reorganizing his staff. He expects to add two new of- ficers. They will be chosen by examination. rlayor Busa understands from Mr. Caplan that Heinen's will be built on SOPS Center Road. IIr. Beebe will write a progress report for the past year. RSr . Peterson ~ai11 check the Heights of the fire hydrants on Iliclcory Hill Road and report at the next meeting. Air. Davis reported a complaint of the height of the grass on the vacant lot on SOAI Center Road by the school and the gas station. Mayor Busa asked Chief Shortle to have his secretary prepare a complaint letter and he will sign it. Architectural Board - Air. Comella. P•lr. Comella read the minutes of the October 10, 1968, meeting. Total valuation approved to date - $2,141,327.00, 1`ir. Schmidt read a Petition from 24 residents on Hickory Hi11, objecting to the moving of a house from SOr1 Center to Hickory Bill Drive. The residents were given. an opportunity to voice their objections later. Building Committee - ido Report. Recreation Committee - Mr. Schmidt. It is in the process of malting a fall schedule to include men and women, i~ir. Caplan will donate the lots behind Heinen's for a skating rinl;. The Committee will put two pole lights on Fisher Skating Pink. Cemetey Committee - AIr. Donaldson. lIe has contacted Airs. 1.4i11s from the Community Club and Mrs. Green from the Garden Club concerning ideas for inproving the appearance of the cemetery. P1rs.
