4. <br /> Civil Defense: Mr. Boger - Met July 1, 1970 at town hall. Sanded the van for the <br /> radio equipment and readied it for painting. <br /> Mayor's Advisory Board: Mr. Fitz=Gerald - July Meeting the Kenwood Gardens Associa- <br /> tion requested council action on having the "For Sale" sign repainted and repaired <br /> at the corner of Sandalwood and SOM Center Road. Vandalism in the village was <br /> discussed. Ken wood Gardens Association requests more police patrol. <br />Planning and Zoning Commission: Mr. Fitz-Gerald - Read the minutes of ~Tuly 16, 1970 <br />meeting. Afield trip to Villa Serena on Mayfield Road in Mayfield Heights is <br />scheduled for July z3, 1970 to further study senz.or citizen's housing. <br />ORDINANCE #70-30: Given a second reading. <br />ORDINANCE #'70-31: Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Boger, who introduced and seconded the added <br />ordinance at the last meet~.ng of council, agreed to add the following amendment to <br />Section 1: "PROVIDING, HOWEVER, THAT NO BUILDING SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED AT A DISTANCE <br />LESS THAN 300' FROM THE PRESENT WESTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF SOM CENTER ROAD." <br />The Ordinance, as amended, was given it's second reading. <br />SENIOR CITIZENS: Wednesday, September 9, 1970 at 8:00 P.M. at St. Bartholomew Church <br />a public hearing is set for the rezoning of Senior Citizen's Housing proposed cite. <br />Safety and Service Committee: Mr. Schmidt - Read the minutes of July 6, 1970 <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Davis; made a motion to purchase the sign applicator <br />for the police department out of Equipment, Building and Maintenance Fund. Roll <br />Call: AYES: Messrs. Leech, Fiti~-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. <br />NAYS: None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr. Sck~midt recommended that we sell for salvage the radio equipment that was <br />burned in the old village hall. Suggested that Allan Com~+~n~cations Corpo purchase <br />it. <br />Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made a motion to allow the Allan Communica- <br />tions Corp. purchase the damaged radio equipment for $175.00. Ro11 Call: AYES: <br />Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. NAYS: None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr. Edelman will check into the legality of the promotion of the policemen. <br />Finance Committee: Mr. Davis - Introduced by Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Boger, <br />"Pay Ordinance 3-P" was submitted and recommended for the payment of bills. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and <br />Davis. NAYS: None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Pay Ordinance Passed <br />Service Department Report: Mr. D'Agostino - Cleaned and cut the grass at the <br />skating rink. Repaired sections of Seneca, Glenview, Bonnieview Road, Zorn Lane <br />aad Ravine Drive with asphalt. Cut grass at freeway interchange. <br />Police Department: Chief Shortle - Gave his monthly report, <br />
