P~IITS[TTES OF PUBLIC HEAY~ING <br />"- Village of hZayfield <br />July 8, 1971 <br />The Council of the Village of I~'Iayfield met at a Public Hear- <br />ing at T~'Iayfield Village Hall on Thursday, July 8, 1971 at <br />8:15 P.1'~I. , I~'layor Vince J. Busa, presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present: TJlessrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, <br />Boger, Schmidt and Davis. <br />Absent: done. <br />Also present were Iflessrs. Edelman, Lockemer and Hovancsek. <br />Mr. Edelman opened the Public Rearing by stating we are <br />here by law for a public hearing on the proposed Ordinance <br />;~71-29, Entitled: "AN ORDITdATdCE TO AI'JIEND THE LOTdIIdG <br />URDII'yANCE OF THE -VILLAGE OF 1'IAYFIELD TRANSFERRING CEP~TAIN <br />PROPERTY IN THE SOUTHI~EST PORTIOI~T OF THE VILLAGE TO OFFICE <br />LABORATORY DISTRICT." Further stated that it was introduced <br />to the Planning and Zoning Commission and they have approved <br />the ordinance, as well as the Regional Planning Commission. <br />A 30-day prior notice of this hearing has been published in <br />the newspaper and the adjoining property owners have been <br />notified according to law. <br />Itilr. Robert Payne of Gould, Inc. was introduced and he gave <br />pertinent facts concerning their interest in the proposed <br />site at the southwest corner of I-271 and b~Iilson Nlills Rd. <br />for 39.5 acres of land. <br />P'Ir. Earl Canfield: Read facts from a report of Regional <br />Planning Commission relative to a 1970 traffic study and <br />wished to know if council has given any consideration to <br />this traffic study brought about by the construction of a <br />K-~~Iart at that point . <br />Mrs. Ruth Gillis: "Traffic is no excuse for rezoning. She <br />stated that 2800 cars is the actual traffic count." <br />Nir. 0. Stecker: "Be more explicit, what do you mean by <br />office lab or research?" Answered by P1r. Payne as "engaged <br />in study of electronic design." <br />NIr. Stecker: "But what type of scientific lab or what type <br />of machinery; experimental lab?" <br />I'~Ir. Payne: "A study of~~friction.and anti-friction materials. <br />I don't :snow about machinery. <br />
