P~IITS[TTES OF PUBLIC HEAY~ING "- Village of hZayfield July 8, 1971 The Council of the Village of I~'Iayfield met at a Public Hear- ing at T~'Iayfield Village Hall on Thursday, July 8, 1971 at 8:15 P.1'~I. , I~'layor Vince J. Busa, presiding. Roll Call: Present: TJlessrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis. Absent: done. Also present were Iflessrs. Edelman, Lockemer and Hovancsek. Mr. Edelman opened the Public Rearing by stating we are here by law for a public hearing on the proposed Ordinance ;~71-29, Entitled: "AN ORDITdATdCE TO AI'JIEND THE LOTdIIdG URDII'yANCE OF THE -VILLAGE OF 1'IAYFIELD TRANSFERRING CEP~TAIN PROPERTY IN THE SOUTHI~EST PORTIOI~T OF THE VILLAGE TO OFFICE LABORATORY DISTRICT." Further stated that it was introduced to the Planning and Zoning Commission and they have approved the ordinance, as well as the Regional Planning Commission. A 30-day prior notice of this hearing has been published in the newspaper and the adjoining property owners have been notified according to law. Itilr. Robert Payne of Gould, Inc. was introduced and he gave pertinent facts concerning their interest in the proposed site at the southwest corner of I-271 and b~Iilson Nlills Rd. for 39.5 acres of land. P'Ir. Earl Canfield: Read facts from a report of Regional Planning Commission relative to a 1970 traffic study and wished to know if council has given any consideration to this traffic study brought about by the construction of a K-~~Iart at that point . Mrs. Ruth Gillis: "Traffic is no excuse for rezoning. She stated that 2800 cars is the actual traffic count." Nir. 0. Stecker: "Be more explicit, what do you mean by office lab or research?" Answered by P1r. Payne as "engaged in study of electronic design." NIr. Stecker: "But what type of scientific lab or what type of machinery; experimental lab?" I'~Ir. Payne: "A study of~~friction.and anti-friction materials. I don't :snow about machinery.
