The Village will be receiving Block Grant <br />fund monies for this project in the amount of $10,000 and will need to match <br />this amount and might expect to pay an additional $5-8,000. <br />earlier. Annual Contribution - Mayor Carmen said that the contribution has al- <br />ready been taken care of. <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 87-29, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SEC- <br />TIONS 659.11 THROUGH 549.16 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />OHIO, PERTAINING TO THE SALE OF FIREARMS, AIR GUNS, B-B GUNS OR SIMILAR <br />WEAPONS WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCQNSZSTEN-T- <br />HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council <br />as a Whole. <br />Mr. Schanfarber (in the audience) pointed out that there is no exception in <br />this ordinance to cover gun collectors. He feels there should be. He said he <br />also feels that someone who comes into the Village to purchase a gun should <br />not have to get a permit with the Village if they do not live in the Village. <br />Mr. Schanfarber also asked that the present dealers be allowed about one year <br />to eliminate their inventorye He said the U.S. Treasury only charges $10 for <br />a permit; this ordinance mentions a$100 fee to be paid to the Village. <br />Mayor Carmen said that this ordinance is only on first reading; and asked if <br />Mr. Schanfarber could be present at the next Caucus meeting to bring up these <br />items.
