92 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />5/20/91 <br />Page Twelve <br />Mayor Carmen said he would like to receive an itemized list regarding the road repairs because we <br />need to make a decision quickly as to what roads will be replaced this year. Mayor Carmen said <br />that Mr. Hovancsek had indicated sections that needed to be replaced this yeaz and he should <br />prioritize that list. Mayor Carmen said that a special meering should be held at the June Caucus. <br />1Vlayor Carmen said plans for 1950s Night are set. The restaurants and bands aze lined up, fliers <br />have been made, and car clubs have been invited. Mayor Carmen said he expects all costs <br />associated with 1950s Night will be underwritten. <br />Mr. Pietrafese said the Holiday Inn expressed an interest in participating. He said that the Trading <br />Times would place a full-page advertisement regarding 1950s Night free if they could hand out the <br />newspaper at the event. <br />1Vlayor Carmen said that he did not feel that was in keeping with this type of event. <br />Discussion was held about Hanover Woods. <br />Mayor Carmen suggested the Law Director contact Mr. Coghlin and Mr. Sullivan. We will send a <br />letter to all residents advising them of a deadline to accept our proposals or propose a third option <br />which we will consider at that time. <br />Further discussion was held. <br />Mr. Rinker suggested that because of the cost factor, we should go back and see that has been <br />done in the past. I3e said if Council is not going to agree to foot th e bill we should decided now. <br />Mayor Carmen cited several oprions: <br />1) We say the Village has a proposal to fund 50% of the program. <br />2) We wait and see. If the property owner experiences a problem later on, the Village does <br />not pay for it. <br />Mr. Ferrante asked what about the prople who have not built homes yet. <br />Mayor Carmen said we will need to monitor that closely and let new home owners know if they <br />mess up they have the obligation to put it the right way. <br />Mr. Ramos to put together a letter to make sure that new home owners are norified. <br />Discussion was held regarding the Village providing a share of the funds required to correct the <br />I3anover Woods properties. <br />Mr. Ramos to prepare a letter regarding the enforcement of the code. All property owners must be <br />in compliance by September 1, 1992. <br />1VIr. Caticchio, in the audience, commented that when the developers left the subdivision all swales <br />were as to plan. They subsequently realized the swales were out of spec and personally sent letters <br />to all builders and property owners showing the exact configuration of the street, the swale, and <br />the distance to the street.
