141
MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING OF COUNCII.
Mayfield Village
August 5, 1991
The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, August 5, 1991, at eight
o'clock p.m. (8 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Bruce
Rinker presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills,
and Mr. Rinker
Absent: Mr. Pietrafese
Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick,
Mr. Ramos, Chief Mohr, Lt. Jay, and Miss Heath
Mr. Ramos said whenever the Village has an amendment to the Planning and Zoning code, it must
have three separate readings, and it must be submitted to the electorate. Mr. Ramos said this
Public Hearing was called to consider an amendment regarding office-laboratory use in a
production-distribution district. Mr. Ramos explained that offices are often put in buildings located
in production-distribution districts and parking becomes a concern. He said the amendment to
change the code would require the following:
1) If a building contains two or more offices, the Building Commissioner must submit
a report relating to the compliance of the Chapter. Mr. Ramos said that when someone has
a production-distribution use, they often slowly convert the space into office but sometimes
they are not in compliance with parking. This amendment would require Mr. Amendola to
make a report to Council on those changes.
2) The maximum lot coverage in a production-distribution district. This addresses the
parking problem.
3) Amending off-street parking requirements (to one space per 200; it is presently one
space per 300). Mr. Ramos explained that the number of employees would be greater in an office-
laboratory use than in a production-distribution district.
Mr. Ramos said there is no change to the zoning code; the amendment just addresses parking.
Mr. Rinker asked if anyone in the audience had any quesrions or comments concerning the change.
There were no comments.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr: Basile, made a motion to adjourn.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Morion Carried
The Public Hearing adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
See other side
