169 <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETIlVG OF COUNCII. <br /> <br />Mayfield Village <br />September 23, 1991 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, September 23, 1991, at 7:35 <br />p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Ha11. Council President Bruce Rinker presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Pietrafese, <br />and Mr. Rinker <br />Absent: Mr. Ferrante <br /> <br /> <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Hovancsek (unti17:45 p.m.) <br />Mr. Ramos, and Miss Heath <br />Mr. Rinker said the special meeting was called to consider Resolurion No. 91-79. <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 91-79, entifled; "A resolution authorizing the Mayor and President <br />of Council to execute a contract with Cleveland Children's Museum for a rental of a maze in an <br />amount not to exceed four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) and declaring an emergency." Introduced <br />by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring a <br />zesolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Morion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to adopt Resolurion No. 91-79. <br />Mayor Carmen said that several months ago we had a Hollywood Night planned; and it did not <br />happen. He noticed a children's maze on the Harbor and negotiated with Cleveland Children's <br />Museum for its rental. The Children's Museum has 61 requests from people who want to use the <br />maze for Halloween and all of them were willing to pay them more for its use. Mayor Carmen said <br />he believes the reveunue from the maze would be astronomical so he put a hold on it. Mayor <br />Carmen explained his plans for the maze including the acrivities to take place while it is open. (See <br />August/September issue of the VOICE OF THE VII.LAGE "Memo From the Mayor" arncle for <br />the information. A copy of the article was included in Council's packet on 9/20/91.) Mayor <br />Carmen said 20 volunteers are needed each night. We are asking high school groups to staff the <br />rooms. He will ask Council and community volunteers to staff the concession and ticket booths. <br />Mayor Carmen said all proceeds from the Halloween maze project will be donated to the Recreation <br />Board toward playground equipment. <br />A lengthy discussion followed. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Rinker <br />NAYS: Mr. Pietrafese <br />Motion Camed
