154 <br />153 <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETIlNG OF COUNCIL <br />. Mayfield Village <br />May 23,1994 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, May 23,1994, at <br />seven thirty-eight p.m. (7:38 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council <br />President Joanne Cinco presided. <br />(D <br />? ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Fixler, Mr. Flynn, <br />? and Mr. Stephens <br />z Absent: Mr. Ferrante <br />? Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, <br />and Miss Heath <br />Mrs. Cinco said the special meeting was called to consider the award of contracts for <br />several street repair programs. She said Council will be passing the legislation this <br />evening in title only. <br />• Mrs. Cinco said the first item for consideration is the asphalt street repair program. <br />Mrs. Cinco said four bids were received. The Village Engineer recommends awarding <br />the contract to Velotta Paving Company in the amount of $16,667.50. <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 94-28, entitled; "An emergency resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Velotta Paving Company for asphalt street , <br />repairs in the amount of $16,667.50." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a <br />Whole. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council <br />requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to enact Resolution No. 94-28. <br />Mr. Cappello said the total amount of the bids received for these projects came in under <br />what they had originally projected. Mr. Cappello said Mr. Hovancsek feels Velotta <br />Paving Company should be awarded the contract.
