MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />January 7,1993 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Thursday, January 7,1993, at <br />5:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Bruce Rinker <br />presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Flynn, and Mr. Rinker <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Pietrafese, Mr. Brett, Mr. Diemert, Chief Mohr, and <br />Miss Heath <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 93-1, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into a contract with Emergency One, Inc. without the necessity of <br />advertisement and formal bidding for an amount not to exceed three hundred ninety <br />thousand dollars ($390,000.00) plus lease financing of same over a five year period. <br />Introduced by Mayor Pietrafese and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Ri:lker said he had an opportunity to circulate material regarding this. There was <br />good coordination between Phil Brett, Chief Mohr, and Joe Diemert to prepare this <br />legislation. Mr. Rinker said since this is an emergency ordinance he wants to make sure <br />the prior communications from Chief Mohr (1) memo dated 12/2/92, (2) letter of <br />January 4,1993; and (3) the two-page graphic description of the economic benefits <br />prepared by Phil Brett are attached to these minutes as part of the permanent record. <br /> <br />Mr. Rinker said we know we will benefit about $53,000 if we opt to purchase this truck <br />by the deadline of tomorrow. The real question we must ask is whether or not we need <br />the truck. If so, he think it behooves us to act now. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council <br />requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 93-1.
