Special Council Meeting
3/1/93
I'age Three
Teff Friedman, in the audience, asked if he could comment. He said he thought there
would be an opportunity for him to speak before Council voted on the ordinance. Mr.
Friedman said he is the owner of the land lcnown as MAY-SO1VI, and the court reporter
is here upon his request. Over the past few months he has been involved in discussions
(with the Village) and he thought he was making significant progress regarding any
action that would be acceptable to them as owners. As a result of previous rezoning
bssues turned down twice from the courts, they must pursue remedies in law. He is
concerned because he believes the proposal they were making was in the best interest of
$he Village. The Village had agreed not to take any additional action until this point; at
this point they will have to take whatever steps they feel are necessary. Mr. Friedman
said he will proceed with the litigation prior to fhe time this will appear on the ballot in
May.
Mayor Rinlcer said he agrees the discussions that were conducted were in good faith;
they were hoping to be able to resolve their differences through that medium. He feels
this ordinance reflects not only the intention of Council, but the view of the Village and
is hopeful residents will support it. Mr. Rinlcer said he feels it is viable and will be
compatible with the community.
Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to adjourn.
IZOLL CALL: AYES: All
IVAYS: None Motion Carried
The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
?
C CIL PRESIDENT, JOANNE M.
