Regular Council Meeting <br />4/19/93 <br />Page Eleven <br />Mrs. Cinco said let's look to May 5 at 9 a.m.; and looking at May 13 tentatively for the <br />meeting with the Walnut residents. <br />Mrs. Cinco said she would like a motion to amend the agenda at this time to add <br />consideration of the Highland/SOM Intersection, and Ordinances 93-20 and 93-21. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to amend the agenda to include the <br />items meniioneci above by Mrs. Cinco. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Flynn, and 1VIrs. Leppla <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Agenda Amended <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />• Anproval of Changes to Ward DistrictingMVs - Mrs. Cinco said at this time she <br />will ask for discussion concerning the ward districting maps (Ordinance No. 93-21) and <br />they will wait to pass it until its order (on the agenda.) <br />Mr. Hovancsek said the numbers are pretty equal per ward. <br />• Concession Trailer <br />• 1-1 /2 Ton Dump Truck <br />(These items were discussed during the Finance Committee report. There was no <br />additional discussion at this time.) <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />• *Highland/SOM Intersection - Mayor Rinker said from the meeting with the <br />Aintree North residents, there is no question the residents are in favor of it. The Police <br />Department is in favor of it. This kind of funding (75%) does nof come along except in a <br />blue moon. He thinks it should be approved. There has been no commitment from <br />O.D.O.T. as to when they will be widening S.O.M. Center Road. <br />Mrs. Cinco said this grant is for $327,178.00; 75% of the total, $436,238. Council needs <br />to consider taking it. She said we must spend monies, but feels we cannot afford not to <br />take advantage of it. It has been needed for some time and there will be funds available. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Basile, macle a motion to authorize the Highland/S.O.M. <br />Center Road Intersection improvement.
