MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETIlVG OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />October 4,1993 <br />T'he Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, October 4,1993, at <br />8:05 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Joanne M. <br />Cinco presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Flynn, and Mrs. Leppla <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Diemert, <br />Mr. Hovancsek and Mr. Cappello, Chief Mohr, and Miss Heath <br />Mrs. Cinco said this meeting was called to consider legislation for the Highland/SOM <br />intersection improvement. The County will pay $97,500 toward our additional <br />expenses. <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 93-43, entitled; "An emergency ordinance enacted by the <br />Village of Mayfield, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the <br />NILTNICIPALTTY, in the matter of the hereinafter described improvement and requests <br />the cooperation of the County of Cuyahoga by its Board of County Commissioners, <br />hereinafter referred to as the COUNTY." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a <br />Whole. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council <br />requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />ROLL, CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Fixler, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 93-43. <br />Mayor Rinker said this is something we have approved. The original scope of the <br />project was estimated to be under $500,000. Additional drainage work was required to <br />be done so we lobbied with the State; and, ultimately the Cuyahoga County Engineers <br />intervened and they are funding half of the overage. We are getting piggyback funds <br />through the County which will make a big difference in the overall cost. <br />Mr. Brett said we are looking at a savings of $30,000 on top of the $60,000 we had hoped <br />for.
