Regular Council Meeting
12/20/93
Page Three
Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said the Christmas party on December 4 was well
attended and successful. The Millridge Hearing Impaired Choral Group gave a musical
presentation on December 7. The Craft Group traveled to Hixon's last Tuesday for
lunch and shopping.
Safety and Service - Mr. Fixler had no report.
Finance - Mr. Flynn said the Committee discussed the following:
Ordinances 93-50 and 93-51, Resolutions 93-37, 93-42, and 93-43. They also discussed
the State of the Village for 1993 with Mr. Brett.
Mr. Brett reported that revenues for the year are likely to come in $100,000 above
estimates. There was an improvement in the municipal income tax, but inheritance
taxes are down. The budget will be within about 1% of the projected figures. The wage
ordinance (of 5%--budgeted for 4%), the winter anci July storms account for additional
expenditures. Still, being within 1% of budget is good news.
Mrs. Cinco commended Mr. Brett for going through what he did. Everyone appreciates
him.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Ferrante said he has no report.
Mrs. Cinco said they are planning to meet January 15.
M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said they met December 2. At that time, they were in trouble
insurance-wise. They will research insurance; they will have insurance coverage one
more year. The next meeting will be on February 3. A new program, "Baseball Clinic",
will be offered.
Ordinance Review - Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile said they met December 6. They gave conditional
approval for a lot split at 691 S.O.M. Center Road. There was insufficient time for
distribution of the drawings for the proposed lot split for the North Chagrin Commerce
Center. The preliminary site plans will be sent to Council.
Recreation - Mrs. Leppla said the Board met December 16. The Craft Show was a big
success. She asked Mayor Rinker to report on the Christmas Party.
Mayor Rinker said the weather was ideal for Santa. It was a good party; a lot of fun.
