Special Council Meeting
1/22/96
Page 7
Mr. Marquardt asked if the Citizen's Advisory Committee has been involved in the
concept of going out for this study.
Mayor Rinker said in fact, the genesis for this project originated in Citizen's
Advisory. The Citizen's Advisory Committee was given the same package as
Council. To the extent that we can dovetail with the efforts of Mr. O'Brien and
Professor Simons--and with Council--this will be our nucleus and we want to spread
out to tYie Village. So, Citizen's Advisory is as about as up-to-speed as we are.
Mr. Schiemann said Forest City took him and other Citizen's Advisory members on
a bus tour last summer around Beachwood Mall to show the committee what they'd
like to do.
Mr. Buckholtz asked what the term build out means.
Professor Simons said it refers to the time period it will take to place real estate in
use--when lands uses take effect.
Council President Fixler asked for a motion to approve the expenditure for this
study not to exceed $20,000.00. [Note: The study will be performed by the Urban
Center of the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University pursuant
to their Proposal to Conduct an Economic and Fiscal Impact Analysis of Mixed Use
Real Estate Development for Mayfield Village which Council received 1/22/96.]
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to approve an expenditure
not to exceed $20,000.00 for the above-mentioned study.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Approved
[Note: Formal legislation will be presented at the Regular Council Meeting.]
Executive Session
Council President Fixler asked for a motion to recess into Executive Session to
discuss personnel matters.
