Regular Council Meeting
1/29/96
Page 3
Community Room. Mrs. Cinco said this is to start doing our studies hands-on with
these people in regards to the development of the northwest quadrant. This is a
physical impact study which is a lot different than what we have done before
concerning the fiscal and economic variables. Mrs. Cinco said she hopes to see
Council and Citizen's Advisory at this meeting.
Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said The Director of Human Services reports the
Commission will host its annual employee thank-you luncheon February 15 in the
Community Room. They will host a social get together for seniors from various
communities along with our own residents in june. This is being organized by the
group of senior recreation directors with whom Mrs. Kalina has been working.
Thursday morning, Mrs. Kalina will attend a meeting of all the Human Services'
Directors in Cuyahoga County. The Commission's annual trip to Wooster for Ohio
Light Opera is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12. They will see The Merry Widow.
Their Tuesday groups have continued to meet on a regular basis despite our winter
storms. Attendance has been a little lighter than usual on these snowy days, but
most of the people look forward to getting out during this time of year.
Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they met January 22. They discussed damaged
leaf machine number two and we are waiting more information from Mr.
Amendola. We are planning on a Safety and Service Meeting this Monday at the
Fire Department at 7:15 p.m. The Police Department presented a proposal for 20
mobile units and requested Council to go out to bid. We recommended review by
the Finance Committee. The Fire Department showed us their new carbon
monoxide policy information. We discussed their telephone system, furniture and
traffic signals. Specs were requested to be prepared to go out for bids in March, in
anticipation of opening day. Mrs. Cinco asked Department Heads to have their
agendas ready for Monday.
Finance Committee - Council President Fixler asked the Chairman to report. Mr.
Marquardt reported the committee met this evening and considered the following:
1) Payment to TAC for maintenance on the C.R.I.S. computers - Mr. Marquardt
asked if this is the only source of maintenance available and whether all
communities use this service. -
Chief Stevens said yes, at this time--and every community he knows of uses their
services.
Mr. Marquardt said the Finance Committee would recommend approval.
2) Snap on Tools - Mr. Marquardt asked if this is the only piece of equipment that is
available and if there is a great urgency for this purchase.
Chief Stevens said no, not until the new cars come in.
Mr. Marquardt said perhaps we can check this out a little further.
