13 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />7/1/96 <br />Page 12 <br />A motion to authorize the payment of $4,642.00 to Love Insurance Companv for Public Officials' <br />Liability Insurance Comnany through National Casualty Insurance Compargy for the period from <br />July 1, 1996 through June 30, 1997. These covera es bring the total cost of insurance for the <br />Village to $61,051 for the 1996-1997 time frame as opposed to $67 879 for the 1995-1996 time <br />ep riod• <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to authorize the paynent of $4,642.00 to <br />Love Insurance Company for Public Officials' Liability Insurance. <br />Roll Call: AYES: 1VIr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fiyder, <br />Mr. Marquardt and Dr. Parker <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />1Vlotion to Authorize Advertisement of Bids for a Fire Pumper <br />Council President Fixler said this is just for bid purposes. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Authorization Granted <br />Discussion re Hiring of an Additional Patrolman <br />Mrs. Cinco said this was discussed by the Safety and Service Committee and we expected to see <br />legislation on the agenda. <br />Mr. Diemert said it could be done by motion--it would be a motion to increase the complement of the <br />Police Department by adding one additional patrolman. <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to increase the complement of the Police <br />Department by adding one additional patrolman. <br />Dr. Parker asked Mayor Rinker's thoughts. <br />Mayor Rinker said in echoing the sentiments of Chief Stevens, we provide a lot of community <br />oriented services such as the D.A.R.E. Program, bicycle patrol and educational programs; we also <br />have scheduling problems. Chief Stevens and Mr. Brett prepared an economic breakdown of <br />what scheduling comes down to.
