Regular Council Meeting <br />February 15,1999 <br />Page 2 <br />CONIlVIENTS FROM COUNCII., PRESIDENT NIARQUARDT <br />Council President Marquardt had no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Building - Mr. Samac said that work has begun on Progressive's second building and we are <br />making headway on the pool. <br />Mayor Rinker noted and Mr. Samac confirmed the work schedule for the pool: five 10-hour <br />days with a second crew working the fifth day to alleviate any overtime. <br />Engineer - Mr. Hovancsek said Mr. Cappello and Mr. Metzung met today to discuss the streets to <br />be sealcoated. The information will be submitted to the Village. <br />Legal - Mr. Diemert said the Mt. Sinai acquisition has been finalized over a 2-year period instead <br />of 3-years. The paperwork is being finalized. It will probably be ours in the next 30 days. <br />Rire - Chief Mohr said the notice on the marquee regarding the helmet sale at the Fire Station on <br />Saturday worked well--a group of people came. The Fire Department will have additional <br />registrations for helmet purchases and will be_offering a CPR class for the community and may <br />offer babysitter safety classes. <br />Chief Mohr said the Village may receive a proposal from Progressive for tower space at the Fire <br />Station. <br />Finance - N1r. Brett said he reviewed the garbage specifications with Highland Heights this <br />afternoon. On Wednesday, he, Mr. Metzung, and the Mayor and Service Director of Highland <br />Heights will go to Oberlin to see their recycling facility. <br />STANDING CONIlVBTTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman reported that over 100 people attended the Appreciation <br />Dinner on Saturday. Our next event will be the Pancake Breakfast which will be discussed at the <br />next meeting in March. We are booking bands for the sununer concert series and a schedule will <br />be included in this issue of the VOV. <br />Architectural Review Board -1VIr. Samac said there was no meeting since the last Council <br />meeting. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said there will be a meeting tomorrow. <br />Cemeterv - Mrs. Mills said a meeting will be scheduled after she talks to Mayor Rinker and Mr. <br />Diemert regarding Gates Mills' participation.
