MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING
Mayfield Village
January 9,1995
The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session for a Public Hearing on Monday,
January 9,1995, at eight o'clock (8:00 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall.
Council President Mark Fixler presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante,
Mr. Fixler, and Mr. Flynn
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello,
Mr. Hanculak, Chief Mohr, Mr. Samac, Chief Stevens
and Miss Heath
Council President Fixler called the Public Hearing to order at 8 p.m. Mr. Fixler said the
Public Hearing was for Ordinance No. 94-20. He asked if anyone in the audience had
any comments.
There were no comments.
Mr. Fixler asked if there were any comments from Council.
Mr. Flynn said it happened near their home. Two Councilpeople would like to try to
revise some of the procedures a little bit. They would like to see: (1) an on-site
inspection after the application for the permit is taken out to see where the location is.
Only in the case of a variance are tlie adjacent neighbors notified [currently]. (2) They
would like to see-automatic notification with some type of criteria (either the size of the
building or the cubic footage, or if it is an unusual set up from the site location.) They
are trying to come with a setback formula regarding the height. He realizes once the 15
feet maximum height kicks in, it will control some of the massive buildings, which this
particular one could be. He described the building adjacent to him which got in under
the 15'. (The structure is 24 x 25 x 19' high and stores 2 vehicles.) Mr. Flynn said they
hope to come up with something in the way of a procedure to, hopefully, protect any
other home owners. They would like to come up with some procedures or guidelines
for the building department on setbacks for this particular situation.
