Regular Council Meeting
1/16/95
Page Seventeen
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None

Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 95-02.
Mrs. Cinco said she thinks it would be noteworthy in the minutes that from the minutes
of Highland Heights sent to us by Tom Cappello dated December 6, they did authorize
participation in the study at a cost not to exceed $10,000 which is their part, such as our
part will be. This will get this project underway. She has been encouraging Highland
Heights and Mayfield Village to move ahead and is happy it is on the agenda tonight.
Mayor Rinker said this is taking what had been the Wilson Mills Corridor Study, which
was done in conjunction with N.O.A.C.A., in cooperation with a number of entities in.
and around the area. For another $20,000 we are able to fund jointly with Highland
Heights, a point of access study which is what is required by the Feds. It is the s.o.p. for
figuring out whether or to what extent there is going to be improvement of the
interchange on Wilson Mills and I-271. Probably in an area that encompasses Alpha
Drive back to 271 and potentially as far east as Beta Drive, but, fundamentally it is
dealing with the interchange itself. In order for us to get this, they are talking about
expanding Wilson Mills in that area and improving the bridges that cross over so that
all four spans will be wide enough to accommodate wider lanes. The whole idea is to
improve the flow and we ought to do this. He is pleased that Highland Heights took
the first step on this.
Mr. Hovancsek said it makes sense for the whole area.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
NAYS: None

Resolution No. 95-01, "A resolution imploring the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit
authority to grandfather in all non-ADA eligible Community Responsive Transit riders
age sixty-five years of age and older for Category I or RTA's ADA Paratransit Service."
Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 95-01.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
