Regular Council Meeting
March 20, 1995
Page Fifteen
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 95-14.
Mayor Rinker said, regarding Highland/SOM, he has received word that we may
receive another $17,000 from the County.
Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante,
Mr. Fixler and Mr. Flynn
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
First Reading of Ordinance No. 95-15, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing a
professional services contract with EDP Consultants, Inc. for the fire station site."
Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Fixler asked Mr. Samac or Mr. Cappello to explain why we are going with them
versus anyone else.
Mr. Samac said EDP is a highly recommended company known to Mr. Panzica, himself
and the City Engineer. The services they are going to provide are more or less
watchdog-type services insuring that what we are going to be placing in the ground is
capable of withstanding what we are placing on it and in conformance with our plans
and specifications.
Mr. Cappello said his firm has worked with EDP a great number of times. There are
other consultants--if Council wants them to request other bids, he thinks that is doable;
but we are really pleased with the previous work we have done with EDP.
A brief discussion was held.
Chief Mohr said providing we get them on board within the next 2-3 weeks, it is his
understanding this will not affect the timetable.
Council determined to leave Ordinance 95-15 on first reading this evening and to
include this item on the agenda for the Special Meeting on Monday, March 27.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 95-16entitled; "An emergency ordinance naming Bank
One as an additional depository of inactive funds of the Village of Mayfield."
Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
