MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />June 12, 1995 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in special session on Monday, June 12, 1995, at <br />7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Village Hall. Council President Mark Fixler <br />presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, <br />Mr. Fixler, and Mr. Flynn <br />Absent: Mr. Ferrante <br />Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Chief Mohr, Mr. Samac, <br />and Miss Heath <br />Mr. Flynn made a motion that Council recess into Executive Session. <br />Council decided to discuss the air conditioning unit first. <br />Mr. Flynn withdrew his motion. <br />Air Conditioning Unit at Village Hall <br />Mr. Samac explained the compressor unit is completely broken. The cost of <br />replacing the unit, including installation, is $11,167. There is a one-year warranty. <br />We can purchase additional years of warranty for $850/year. We are looking at 1-1/2 <br />weeks for delivery and installation of this unit. Mr. Samac said a completely new <br />system would cost $17,790 installed. It would take 6-7 weeks to be delivered; it <br />comes with a 5-year warranty. He said it is no easy decision. <br />Discussion was held; Council asked for Mr. Samac's recommendation. <br />Mr. Samac said if we are only going to be in the building 3-4 years, he would <br />recommend replacing the compressor. Then, we would be back in operation in a <br />couple of weeks. He explained that the new system will not work any better than <br />the old one did when it was working; we will still have problems when the weather <br />changes. <br />Ordinance No. 95-29. "An emergency ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter <br />into a contract with Adams Heating without the necessity of advertisement and <br />formal bidding for an amount not to exceed eleven thousand five hundred dollars <br />($11,500.00). <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council <br />requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions.
