Introduced by Mayor <br />Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 98-29; entitled; "An emergency ordinance amending Article V, <br />Section 6(F) and adding new section (G) of the Charter of Mayfield Village regarding original <br />appointments to positions within the Classified Civil Service." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and <br />Council as a Whole. <br />OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under <br />"New Business" only. <br />There were no comments. <br />ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL <br />CLOSING COMMENTS <br />Dr. Parker said he was approached by a constituent and a church member who asked him to relay <br />that in their opinion, the Village is not interested in any negotiation or discussion with them. <br />Also, they are proceeding with looking for property outside our area. <br />Council President Fixler read from the August, 1998 church bulletin. Council President Fixler <br />said he will contact Reverend Cummings tomorrow; he thinks this would be in order for the <br />September meeting. <br />Mayor Rinker endorsed the step and reiterated the need to negotiate with the Church. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked about the Beech Hill odor issue. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said Ruth Langsner (the County Sanitary Engineer) said she will authorize her <br />staff to investigate the pumping station tributary to see if there is some delay in meeting the <br />sewer. <br />Mayor Rinker said when we receive calls, we contact the Sewer District. We have learned the <br />bed is not functioning as it should. They will troubleshoot that--and are trying to determine if <br />there is a pattern. Mr. Samac and Mr. Metzung are working with the District regarding the <br />landscaping. <br />
