9
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Village of Mayf ield
January 17, 1983
The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Regular'Session on Monday,
January 17, 1983 at 8:08 p.m. in the Village Hall. Council President,
Vince J. Busa, presided.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Roll Call: Present: Messrs., Busa, Carmen, Etzler, Flynn, Spellman, Mrs.
Bloom and Mrs. Hanus ?
Absent : None
Also Present Were . Mayor Beebe, Messrs., Amendola, Feneli, Hovancsek, Toth,
Chief Hejcl, and Chief Stevens
OPEN PORTION
Ptl. Roy Dobson - asked permission from the Council President to read a.letter
from the majority of the Mayf ield Village employees to Mayor Beebe and Council.
Mr. Busa granted Ptl. Dobson permission to read the letter.
Ptl. Dobson read the letter, a copy attached as a permanent record to these
minutes.
Mr. Busa said that Council is grateful for the.attitud'e and understanding of
the employees. They will give serious thought between now and the end of
June (regarding wage inerease) and asked that the employees have patience and
carry on.
Mr. William Hite - 6515 Chase'Drive - said it was recently brought to his
attention that the Village is unable to maintain the quality of income to
their employees. He feels a nominal increase is in order and questioned why
ther.e are not funds in the Village to support a 5- 6% wa.ge increase. He
feels it the other Hillcrest communities can afford an increase, so should
Mayfield Village. He also feels they should state now some idea of the amount
of.increase that they can expect to receive mid-year."
Mr. Busa said Mr. Hites points are well-taken. There is alot he is not
exposed to but he is welcome to sit in on meetings for facts and figures.
There was total communication with the employees and they are aware of the
situation. He said hopefully we will maintain and improve ou"r services and
continue as a leader in the Hillcrest area.
