(-; :
11
Mayor Beebe said in recent weeks many hours have been spent discussing the
1983 budget and he thanked those involved for their input and aasist. The
1983 objectives, budgetwise, wili be to avoid any undue expenditures. There
must be an absolute need, critieal.to the..health, safety and welfare of the
residents before any.requisition is approved. Department Heads have been
mosfi cooperative in this area. Our,.income, essentially derived from taxes,
has tapered. Their response was most commendable_and understanding.
We will again look at the financial picture July lst and.if possible, make
an adjustment. The:10% employee.increase last January came to over $100,000.00.
The uncertainities of 1983 affect us all. Checks and balances are of the
utmost importance in the Mayf ield Village Company - as they are with all of
our tax paying residents:. We will continue to keep our.._residents informed on
the "State-of-the-Vi.llage".
Mayor Beebe stated that Eloise Ma.ynard, Assistant Finance.Director who is
recovering from a fractured hip.is.doing fine.
