°74. <br />Fireworks Suggestion - A new State law has been passed which should be <br />reviewed before a decision is made. <br />Discussion was held. Mr. Feneli to review the document. <br />Council agreed to accePt the bid received by Mr. DeSantis pending approval by <br />the Law Director following his.review of the new law. <br />Mrs. Hanus, seconded by Mrs. Bloom, made a motion approving the expenditure of <br />$1,000.00 to Mr. DeSantis for a f ireworks display to be held on the Sunday of <br />Village Days, August 7, 1983. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 <br />NAYS: None <br />CLOSING COMMENTS <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Approved <br />Discussion was held regarding the letter from Steve Hovancsek about various <br />street repairs, crack f illing, etc., to be done this year and plans for next <br />year. <br />Mr. Toth asked Mr. Hovancsek to submit to him a tentative budget for 1984 <br />by the first week of June. <br />Mrs. Bloom suggested an ordinance be drafted stating that parents are not <br />permitted to serve liquor to minors and that a fine would be imposed to <br />those who violate this rule. Other communities have adopted similar legislation. <br />Mr. Feneli wi11 review the legislation from the other communities. <br />Mr. Carmen expressed thanks to the Mayor, Law Director, and Police Chief for <br />all their hard work in the recent week. <br />Mrs. Hanus commented the Fire Department, Firef ighters Posatiere and Panzero <br />for their excellent assistance in transporting her husband, Frank, to the <br />hospital. <br />Mr. Feneli said the date of the Assessment Equalization Board Hearing must be <br />f illed in on the Resolutions 83-12 and 83-13 which appoint the Board. The <br />date of the hearing will be June 2nd, Beechers Brook residents at 7:00 p.m. <br />and Beech Hi11 at 8:30 p.m. <br />Mr. Toth requested that the Department Heads be permitted to give their <br />reports at the beginning of the Council Meeting instead of during Closing Comments. <br />There were no objections from Council. Mr. Busa agreed the Department Head <br />comments will follow Council President's comments on the agendas in the <br />future. <br /> <br /> <br />
