9? <br />Mr. Laskowski introduced Mr. John Neal, another representative from C.E.I. <br />The hearing before the P.U.C.O. was in 1979 and the rate increase for Mayfield <br />Village is 12.1% which is based on 185 street lamps in the Village and the <br />different types of lamps they are. CEI is the only supplier for this area. <br />The tariff inethod, instead of the individual contract concept, will now be.used. <br />A lengthy discussion was held. <br />A change in the traffic lighting rate is being planned for this Fall. <br />Council received literature from C.E.I. explaining the street lighting increase <br />and the tar.iff, also the 1984 street lighting schedule and.billing information. <br />COr]MENTS FROM DEPARTMENT HEADS <br />Mr. Amendola stated the County has agreed to repair the broken sidewalks in the <br />Aintree area and reset the manhole covers at a lower level. <br />The drains have been completed at the Wiley ball field but there is one more <br />catch basin to be installed. <br />Road repairs are presently being made in the Worton Park, Joyce Road area. The <br />next repair work will be done on Seneca, Bonnieview, and Glenview. He explained <br />one section at a time will be repaired this year. <br />Mr. Toth thanked the Council President for including Department Head Comments <br />on the agenda. He reported the State Examiners are presently working in the <br />Finance Department on a two year audit. They have not seen any problems yet <br />and plan to be working here approximately one month. <br />He is working on the 1984 budget and.suggested the June 27 Finance Meeting be <br />open to all of Council as he will have some work papers to present on the budget. <br />Regarding C.E.I., we have already accounted for their assessment. <br />Chief Hejcl reported the Fire Department will start flushing hydrants within the <br />next three weeks. Signs will be posted at the end of the street 24 hours prior <br />to the hydrant flushing. • <br />Chief Stevens requested the pr.oposed ordinance regarding liquor consumption be <br />revised on page three, Section 529.04, to read "...for possession or consumption <br />in a motor vehicle.'-" The change was approved and the Clerk will make the change. <br />Mr. Feneli commented he checked with the Office on Consumer Counsel regarding <br />the C.E.I. tariff to see if they could be of assist. He feels they might be <br />of assist in the future. He.spoke to two attorneys who had represented <br />municipalities before the P.U.C.O. regarding the street lighting tariff and <br />they would be willing to give us a price quote etc. and speak with us. He <br />feels with C.E.I. planning another rate increase in two years the Hillcrest <br />Council of Councils may want to start discussion on this.
