She read a letter to the Ma.yfield Village
Council dated July 18, from the property owners on Old Beecher's Brook Road. A
copy of this letter and minutes of their June 12 meeting are attached as a
permanent record to these minutes.
In summary of the Ietter, the property owners request in writing from the Village
concurrence that the old section of the road is private. Grants of easement
designating the road as private and giving them the right and responsibility to
maintain the road are in their property deeds. They also request authorization
to allow a contractor of their.choice to repair the road according to their
specifications. By unaniinous vote of those present at their June 12 meeting,
they decided to continue to solicit bids and pay for the repair of old Beechers
Brook.
Mr. Busa asked that the Law DirECtor make a recommendation to Council after he
reviews this informa.tion.
Mr. Feneli said the contents of the letter were already made known and there was
no problem in responding now. Since the last Council Caucus he discussed this
with the Village Engineer and Bond Counsela He will present Council with the
options they have, then it is their decision.
1) The homeowners repave their own road in the way they have determined to
repave it, which is not in accordance with the recommendations of our Engineer.
The road would probably suff ice for a short period of time.
