161

Beech Hill Pumping Station -•Steve Hovancsek said a meeting was held recently
with the County Sanitary Engineer, the.Sewer District, and Mayfield Village.
The County agreed to install another flat valve on a storm outlet and will be
.smoke testing to test connections which could be causing some of the odor
problems in the area. They plan to do this by December lst and will be
reporting their findings to us soon after that.
We should be.hearing shortly from the Sewer District regarding a better
preventative maintenance program to minimize the amount of down time at the
pumping station. They suggested holding a meeting before the holidays (if
everything gets in) or after the first of the year to find out where we are
and if the proposed remedies minimize future maintenance problems.

Mr. Etzler said the Sewer Board had noted they felt some of the odor was
coming from the-overflow pipes. They were to repair one flap valve and to
install another, which has been done. There was a 40 minute break down
recently and there was no overflow problem, the automatic pumps took over.
Some headway may have been made. '
Wilson Mills/NOACA - Mr. Hovancsek said there was a meeting held today with
the Ohio Department of Transportation and NOACA. We expressed our concern
that this project was not going forward.because we are not on the T.I.P. list
because we have not paid our dues to NOACA. Mr. Carmen said NOACA is required to serve all communities. We do not use
their services and he does not think whether or not we pay dues to NOACA
should affect our rating on the Transportation Improvement Program list.
Mrs. Bloom mentioned the contract the Village signed in 1979 indicating the
road was to be repaved. We felt it was binding and went forward with
Engineers fees, etc.
Discussion was held.
Beech Hill Assessment Equalization Board Report - Mr. Feneli said Council was
to discuss this matter at the Caucus meeting. No resolutions, either accepting
or no.t.accepting their decision have been passed. There is no time limit in
which it has to be done.
Mr. Busa said this could be discussed at the. December meeting.
Village Insurance Coverage - Mr. Etzler said a meeting was held with Mr.
Chapman: Information is still being gathered and a decision has not been made.

Resolution 83-21, entitled; "A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING AND ACCEPTING THE
RECENT PAY INCREASE AWARDED BY THE MAYFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION TO MAYFIELD
VILLAGE POLICE OFFICERS SUPERVISING THE PARKING LOT AT MAYFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Beebe and Council as a
Whole. (Tabled 9/19).
Dr. Stabile was to make this-recommendation to the School Board. We are awaiting
their answer. •
.1
