46
Mr. Sutton passed out a copy of the specifications to Council.
Mr. Sutton stated the dates listed on the specifications are tentative.
Mr. Feneli asked Mr. Sutton, of the eleven coverages mentioned in the
specif ications, how many the Village presently has.
Mr. Sutton said the Village now has five of the coverages mentioned;
(automobile, general liability, property, miscellaneous and bonds).
Mr. Sutton stated he recommends the Public Officials Liability Insurance
and the punitive damages for police officers insurance that the Village is
currently carrying not be rebid upon as he feels coverage is best with the
present carriers. $e explained Chief Stevens was unaware the Village did
not have the punitive damages for police officers insurance and an agreement
was made to add this insurance on February 11 at no charge until the renewal
date of March 16. Mrs. Bloom asked Mr. Sutton if the items must be bid on separately.
Mr. Sutton explained the bid form was designed so if one company could not
provide all coverages others may be listed.
Mr. Guerin Avery arrived at this time. (8:35 P.M.)
Mr. Sutton explained what the extra expense insurance is for.
Mr. Etzler asked why the Fire Department is not included in the extra
expense insurance.
Mr. Sutton said this was based on past experience, that problems have never
arisen with Fire Departments being unable to relocate.
Mr. Feneli asked if any of the insurance policies the Village has presently
are due to expire.
Mr. Sutton stated there are no policies due to expire that should be consideredo
Mr. Carmen questioned if the amount of automobile insurance coverage was listed
in the specif ications.
Mr. Sutton said the limit, $500,000.00, is listed in the specifications so the
insurance companies will only bid if they carry that amount o€ coverage.
Mr. Sutton stated he has gone over the list of vehicles and titles owned by
the Village and that it is up to date.
