Council President Spellman stated there being no objections, the minutes
will stand approved as corrected.
MAYOR' S CONIMENTS
Nlayor Beebe said he had an enjoyable vacation although alot of it was business
because they hope to eventually become part owners in a mobile home park.
He said,, in answer to Mrs. Fitzgerald's questions, a meeting was held today in
his off ice witfi Mr. Louis Corsi, Director, and Mr. William Schatz, Attorney for
the Northeast Ohio. Regibnal Sewer District. Others who attended.the meeting
were; Law Director Dale Feneli, Engineer Steve Hovancsek, Chairman.of the
Planning and Zoning Commission Robert Schulte, Councilma.n Richard Etzler,
Councilwoman Rochelle Bloom, and Beech Hill resident Dennis Rash. Mayor Beebe
said when he asked for the correct emergency phone number to call, Mr. Corsi
was surprised to learn that the pumping station was unattended at many times,
and they knew of no emergency number to give us. Replacement of many meters
will be made which is causing many of the problems. Another meeting is
planned for December 6th at 10:00 a.m. in the Mayor's Office. Mr. Corsi,
their attorney and others will be attending. They should then be able to
provide specif ic answers to the requests we have made, and Mayor Beebe said
he is hoping for more encouraging information at .that time.
Mr. Feneli added that Mr. Corsi and Mr. Schatz promised to have a response to
the Mayor within two weeks from today (November 29) to allow time to.review
their report before the Decemlier 6th meeting.
Mayor Beebe said he will distribute copies of their report to area residents.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Safety & Service - Mrs. Bloom said the Safety & Service Committee met November
9. All Council members present agreed the two police cars Chief Stevens wishes
to purchase.at the beginning of the year should be purchased. A detailed record
explaining the necessity of this purchase is attached to the Safety and Service
minutes. She reported the cars that would be sold when these are purchased
would be sold for between $1,200.00 and $1,500.00.each. The informa.tion on the .
radio-console and optional items will be available Thursday. Chief Stevens and
Chief Hejcl are greatly concerned about the new park entrance. Clarif.ication
is needed concerning the Police and Fire Chiefs attendance at Council Meetings.
During an Executive Session it was decided the Chiefs would not.have to attend
all meetings, yet they are being sent notices to attend a11.Council Meetings.
The Committee feels an ordinance is needed to establish a"no parking" area
around the Community Room. Chief Stevens put togetfier a traff ic flow report.
Some corrections should be made to the Community Room so it will follow our code.
Council President Spellinan asked if the Committee recommended Council take action
on the two police cars at this meeting.
Mrsa Bloom verif ied this was the committees recommendation.
?
?
