<br />MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING <br />Mayfield Village <br />May 13, 1985 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Session on Monday, <br />May 13, 1985, at 8:45 p-m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall to <br />conduct a Public Hearing. Council President, Richard C. Etzler, presided. <br />Roll Cal1: Present: Mrs Bloom, Messrs., Basile, Etzler, Flynn, and Goley <br />Absent : None <br />Also Present Was . Mayor Carmen <br />There were no residents in attendance: <br />Mr. Etzler announced that this Public Hearing was being held regarding <br />Community planning in preparation for community development. He noted <br />that Mrs. Patterson was present from Frances E. Gaul's Office and Mrs. <br />Davis was present from the Department of Community Development. <br />Mr.s. Davis explained that something different was forthcoming that would be <br />in addition to the normal grants. A centralized fund would be formed with <br />about $100,000 in it. Cities would have the opportunity to set up what they <br />plan to do and pool from the fund. The amount they could receive would <br />depend on the number of people in their city with a low-moderate income. <br />She said someone should come into their office after all the planning was <br />completed. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Mr. Etzler asked if they had any idea as to what amount we could expect to <br />recieve. He said we were told to follow these steps to recieve a grant: <br />1) Letter of interest to the Block Grant People <br />2) Pass the ordinance by the end of August, 1984. <br />3) Schedule this meeting. <br />We have completed the above-mentioned steps. <br />Mrs. Davis said we should contact Nancy Croonan, the new Director of the <br />Department of Community Development. They asked who our contact person wo.uld <br />be. <br />Mayor Carmen and Council agreed they should contact Steve Toth. <br />Mrs. Davis said she would have Valerie contact Mr. Toth. <br />There b.eing no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9 p.m.
