<br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />DecemUer 19, 1985 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Session on Thursday, <br />December 19, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall. <br />Council President, Richard C. Etzler, presided. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mrs. Mills, Mr. Basile, iKr. Flynn, Mr. Etzler, <br />and Mr. Goley <br />Absent : None <br />Also Present Were . Mayor Carmen, Council-Elect David Petschauer <br />Ordinance 85-25, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION 131.05 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFItLD VILLAG.E, OHIO, CREATING THE POSITION OF <br />HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR, ESTABLISHING THE QUALIFICATIONS, CONIPENSATIONS <br />AND DUTIES THEREFOR AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor <br />Carmen and Council as a Whoieo (First Reading 12/16/85) <br />Mr. Goley said he would like to make a inotion to refer Ordinance 85-25 to <br />the next Caucus for discussion. <br />Mr. Etzler said he felt discussion should be held at this meeting. <br />D.iscussion was held on the information.Mr. Petschauer submitted in the Council <br />packets on the salaries of_other Senior Citizen Groups and tlieir personnel. <br />Mr. Goley said, in comparing the figures, other communities were paying <br />approximately 65? per person for their services, and we would be paying over <br />$2.40.per person based on the salary in the ordinance. <br />Mr. Petschauer said he submitted the comparative information to initiate <br />discussion. . <br />Mr. Etzler said the rate agreed upon by the present coordinator was $5.50, <br />the same as.a part-time secretary. '. <br />Mr. Goley said all work at Highland Heights is done on a volume basis. They <br />have a 5-member commission who work on the flu shot program and the Federal <br />surplus food program. <br />Further di:scussion was held. There were discrepancies in the information <br />different members obtained. <br />
