106 <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Mr. Toth said he had a comment regarding a question someone brought up at <br />the last Caucus regarding police salaries. He explained there were no more <br />appropriations left in the General Fund for police salaries but the police <br />salaries and wages can come out of the Poli ce Operating Fund. This will be <br />the case until the end of the year. <br />Mr. Toth said Council will probably have to hold a Special Council Meeting <br />prior to December 12 to adopt a resolution accepting the amounts and rates as <br />determined by the Budget Commission. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - There was no report. <br />Board of Appeals - There was no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Etzler said the Commission held a Christmas Boutique <br />November 10. They made $500 profit and plan to have another boutique in 1985. <br />Mr. Etzler presented Mayor Carmen with a check from the Commission on Aging to <br />be applied to the Community Room Fund. <br />Mayor Carmen expressed his thanks to the Commission on Aging for the donation. <br />Mr. Etzler said Mr. Kraus will be setting up an electric train around the <br />Christmas tree for the Recreation's Christmas Party. The Commission on Aging <br />Christmas Party will be held December 8. <br />He reported:Roy and Alice Hawthorne donated an indoor tree and a couch to <br />the Commission on Aging which they donated to the Community Room. <br />Finance - Mrs. Bloom said the meeting was rescheduled for later this month. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Bloom said she missed the last meeting <br />but it had to do with paramedics. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Goley asked Mrs. Bloom if she had asked Mrs. Etzler for <br />recommendations for M.A.R.C. representatives. <br />Mrs. Bloom said she hasn't talked to her yet. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mayor Carmen said they went over the last portion of the <br />sign ordinance at their last meeting. They made determinations for real estate <br />temporary signs and political campaign signs (see P&Z min, of Nov. 5.) They <br />also determined that temporary signs with flashing lights, arrows, etc., would <br />not be allowed. <br />Recreation - Mrs. Bloom said the Halloween Party was a tremendous success and <br />the Square Dance was alot of fun. Approximately 40 people attended the dance. <br />Their Christmas party will be December 16; details will be forthcoming. <br />Village Days - Mayor Carmen said they will be meeting the second week in December.
