<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />6/20/88 <br />Page 14 <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 88-29, entitled; "A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE <br />ACTION OF COUNCIL IN AWARDING A CONTRACT TO AMERICAN EMPIRE SURPLUS LINES <br />INSURANCE COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS <br />($2,520.00) FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS EXTENDED COVERAGE INSURANCE FOR THE PERIOD <br />JUNE 2, 1988 TO JUNE 2, 1989 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by <br />Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ri nker, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All - <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried. <br /> Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />88-29. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br /> Resolution Adopted <br />Resolution No. 88-30,: entitled; "A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE MAYFIELD AFTER- <br />PROM COMMITTEE." Mrs. Mills, and <br />Mr. Rinker <br />NAYS: None <br />ABSTAIN: Mre Petschauer Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL <br />Mro Marquardt, Civil Commission Chairman - said that in reference to Mrs. <br />Mills' comments about the Lieutenant for the Police Dept. and a Sergeant for <br />the Fire Department, the only request the Commission would have would be to <br />include job descriptions with the new positions. He explained that the <br />Civil Service Commission rules outlined the guidelines for creating new <br />positions. <br />Mr. Iafelice commented that by Mayor Carmen's comments earlier he saw that <br />the Village would not be wasting time resolving the problem. <br />Mr. Rinker asked if the gas well near Mr. Rife's house had been plugged. <br />Mr. Amendola said the well was supposed to be plugged this month. He said <br />he would check with the County to see what the hold up was and let Mr. <br />Rinker know. <br />Mr. Hovancsek requested tHat the Village notify the residents where the <br />seeding was done by Terraco to water the area so the seeds will germinatev <br />Mayor Carmen said the letter went out last week and the residents received <br />it Saturday.
