In that building wi11 be 1,000 square
feet of space for medical use and 1,100 square feet for general office
spac',e. This requires a variance of.4.8 parking spaces. Planning and Zoning
recommended that Council grant the variance on the contingency that the
medical use portion of the building never exceeds 1,000 square feet.
Dr. Al1en Palgut,(who was present in the audience) sai&.he would like to
amend the proposal. He explained they would like to split the building in
half, which would give.them.1,050 square feet for medical use, and 1,050
square feet for office space. He further explained the proposal which
would.increase their variance request by 2.2 parking spaces.
Mayor Carmen explained the procedure that must be followed regarding the
granting of a variance. He said that if Dr. Palgut wanted to amend the
original proposal, he must go back to Planning and Zoning and have them
consider the new proposal and make another recommendation to Council. If
he decides that he does not want to amend the proposal, Council may vote
on his original proposal this evening.
Dr. Palgut asked that Council vote on his original proposal.
Mr. Petschauer, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to grant a five-car
parking variance on the Plastine property on the contingency that the
medical use of the building never exceeds 1,000 square feet, based upon
the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None.
Motion Carried
Variance Granted
Mr. Flynn asked Dr. Palgut for a summary of his practice.
Dr. Palgut explained it will be a chiropractic practice.
6571 Wilson Mil1s Road - Mr. Etzler said a one-story general office building
is proposed at this address. The plans provide for an 8,000 square feet
building requiring 40 parking spaces. A variance request has been made for
two parking spaces. The Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended that
Co.uncil approve this variance request. .
