34 <br />COMMENTS FROM-MAYOR CARMEN(Cont.) <br />Mayor Carmen said he wanted to compliment the workers from Mayfield Village <br />and the County for the patching work they did on Wilson Mills Road yesterday. <br />In addition, for the members of the Press, he does not want to create a <br />controversy, but would like them to know it was Gus's idea and thinks he <br />should get the credit for it. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT ETZLER <br />Mro Etzler said there will be a short Executive Session after tonight`s <br />Council meeting. <br />Steve Hovancsek arrived at this time (8:10 p.m.) <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />There were no reports. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />There were no reports for the Architectural Review Board, Board of Appeals <br />and Commission on Aging. <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn said the Committee met at 7:15 p.m. this evening and <br />discussed the 1986 budget appropriations. They must have a special meeting <br />prior to March 27 since several members of Coia.ncil will be out of town after <br />that date. Mr. Flynn asked Mr. Hovancsek to begin the street lighting <br /> <br />assessment procedure. <br />Mr. Hovancsek requested a motion from Council authorizing him to do so. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Goley, made a motion to authorize.the Engineer <br />to prepare the street lighting assessments. <br />Roll Ca11: AYES: A11 <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Authorization Given <br />Mayor Carmen noted that the Department Heads should be camplimented this year <br />because he felt their budgets were the best he has received. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Etzler reported on the meeting held March 6. There was an <br />insurance report given, there will be a permanent sigh installed at the <br />Middle School, and the Card Club had their first meeting, the M.A.R.C. <br />Track Meet will be held on May 31. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile said the Commission met March 3 and the <br />following items were.discussed: the proposal for a medical office building <br />at 6593 Wilson Mills Road, which required a parking variance of 4.8 spaces <br />(P&Z recommended to Council that a.variance be granted on the contingency that <br />the medical use of the building never exceeds 1,000 square feet), an office
