1R1

MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
September 29, 1986

The. Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on
Monday, September 29, 1986, at 7:40 p.m. in the Council Chambers
at the Vil.lage Hall. Council President Richard C. Etzler
presided. Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basi.le, Mr. Etzler, Mr. Goley, Mr.
Petschauer, and Mr. Flynn (7:50 p.m.)
Absent None
Also Present Were : Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Feneli
Mr. Etzler said this Special Meeting was called by Mayor Carmen
to discuss the garage being built on Hickory Hill. He said this
situation was first brought to Council's attention at their
September 8th Caucus. At that meeting, Council directed the Law
Director to prepare an ordinance to correct the size of a
building permitted on a lot. Mr. Etzler said while we realize
that this building is out of proportion to the size of the lot,
it was governed by a previous ordinance. The ordinance
correcting this problem was passed at a Special Council Meeting
on September 18. He said Mayor Carmen has called this Special
Council Meeting for people to speak; for all sides to be heard.
He turned the meeting over to Mayor Carmen.
Mayor Carmen said that since this is such an emotional issue, he
would like to set a few ground rules. He asked that speakers
keep their voices down, and limit themselves to five minutes in
their comments. T.his is a session for us to try to work out a
situation which has become a bad situation for the people who
live in the Hickory Hill, Blueberry Circle area.
Mr. Goley asked if speakers would address the Mayor and Council
rather than addressin•g-specific individuals.
Mayor Carmen agreed that all questions and comments should be
directed to he and Council.
