He. <br />said he would talk to Counci'1 about it since Council has the authority <br />to hire. He said.Mr. Abate (who presenGly::assists Mr. Amendo'la now with <br />plumbing inspections) would be wi'1'ling to start around December 2(when <br />Mr. Qmendo'la returns) and work about three four-hour days per week at <br />$15 an hour. Mr. F'lynn explained why he fe'lt Mr. Abate's assistance was <br />needed; because there is an enormous amount of building going on in the <br />Vi'1'lage at this time. <br />Mr. Etz:Ler said he be'lieves ,Mr. F'lynn is ta'lking aboLt hiring Mr. Abate by <br />ordinance as a sub-contractor (like himse'lf and Mr. Toth.) He s'aid because <br />there is a tremendous amounti of construction going on in the Vi.'l:Lage; it is <br />a big load for Mr. Amendola to carry by hiinse'lf. He quoted rates of pay of <br />various-members of the Service.Department, which did r.ot include benefits. <br />In view of these rates; hefeels.the $15 per hour as requested by Mr. Abate <br />is a fair amount. Mr. Etz:Ler asked thE C'lerk of CounciL to make copies of <br />this information for the members of Counci'1 for the packets. <br />Discussion was he'ld. <br />1(1 <br />Mr. Petschauer asked if we were goin'g to be asked to act on this recommendation <br />tonight. Since Mayor Carmen has requested that we discuss this at our next <br />Caucus, he suggests we wait unti:L then and get the tota:L picCure. <br />Mr. Etz:Ler asked Mr. Fene'li to prepare the ordinance hiring Mr. Abate as <br />Assistant Buildirig Commissioner. <br />Discussion was he'ld regarding a'"p'lans examiner." Mr. F'lynn exp'lained what <br />a p'lans examiner does. <br />Mr. Feneli said he thinks Mr. Wilson is the Vi1'lage's p'lan examiner. <br />Mr. Etzler said he doee• not think the Vi'1'lage fo'1'lows the procedures other <br />communities fo:Llow regarding a p'lans examiner. <br />Gounci'1 agreed it would be a good idea to have a job description for a p'lans <br />examiner. <br />Mr. F'lynn wil'1 research this a'long with rates of other p'lans examiners and <br />have the information for Council at the next Caucus.
