195 <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />December 29, 1986. <br />Mayfield Vi'1'lage. <br />The Council of Mayf ield Village met in Specia:L Session on Monday, December <br />29, 1986, at 8:35 p.m. 3:n the Council Chambers at the Village Ha'll. <br />Council President, Richard C. Etz:Ler presided. <br />Roll Ca11: Present: NIr. Basile., Mr. Etzler, and Mr.. F:Lynn.. <br />Absent : Mr•. Go1ey, Mr. Petschauer <br />A'lso Present Were . Various Membexs of the Historical Society (in the <br />audience) <br />Mr. EtzYer said the mee:ting was ca:L:Led to discuss the propo.sed site for <br />the historical home. He said that some of us have new ideas. He said <br />this wilY be an informal meeting and that he brought.with him plot p'lans <br />showing vi:Llage sites, etc. ' <br />NancS P'lastine, a member of the Mayfield Township Historica:L Society, said <br />the Historica'1 Society was o£fered four lots on Midva'le in another city, <br />which is quite a distance away. <br />Mr. EtzYer showed the plan of the o1d.Arco,property site adjacent to the <br />Village Ha'lY. He said he feels that it wouYd be fitting to put that house <br />on that site. It wor(ld be next to the Village Hal'1 and the other'o'ld home. <br />He feels we wou'ld have more to gain with the site in Mayfie:Ld Vi1'lage. He <br />said the home is approximate:Ly 65' x 35' or 45'. Mr. Etz:Ler saicl that <br />for.mer Mayor Robert Beebe suggested this location tb him. He said the <br />Historical Society needs a commitment from the Village in order to start <br />the proeedures to mowe the house. The move must be_completed by March 1st. <br />Mrs. Plastine a'lso stressed that the Historica'1 Society needs a commitment <br />because there are sti1'l tenants in the building. They would like to get <br />something settled. She said,that Mr. Musca is wi.Yling to cooperate regarding <br />the move. She exp:Lained that after the Standard Oil building is torn down, <br />the move cou'ld be made with ease. <br />Mr. Etzler said this would be a subject that would require four votes of <br />Counci'1 to pass, un'less it was given three readings. He said that he is <br />in favor of it, and asked `the other members of Council for their tee:Lings. <br />Mr. Basi'le said he is concerned about the l.egalities invo:Lved; the le.ga'lity <br />of the Village leasing the property to the Historica'1 Society, etc. <br />Mr. Flynn.said he is in fav,or.of 3.t but wouYd rike to see it reviewed by <br />the Law Department first. `
