14 ?s <br />Regulaz Council Meeting <br />8/20/90 <br />Page 11 <br />CLOSING COMMENTS <br />Mr. Rinker said when he voted on the spending authority ordinance at the last meeting he voted in <br />favor of it because he felt the problem in communication was of paramount importance. He said <br />that Mr. Pietrafese just commented on the weekly summary; he thinks this is a tangible effort on <br />the part of the Mayor as we go week to week this direct response is helpful. Mr. Rinker said he <br />feels communication has improved during the last several month and he hopes everyone can work <br />cooperatively. . <br />Mr. Pietrafese said he would like to get an update on the spending on Village Days. <br />Mrs. Mills asked when Council could receive an update on 50's night and Village Days <br />expenditures. <br />Mr. Patrick said he will have the atnounts available by September 10. <br />Mr. Basile said he thinks Mayor Carmen should have started the weekly summaries "sooner and <br />that there has been a lack of communication between the Mayor and Council on dollars spent. <br />Mayor Carmen said that communication is a two-way street. He said he thinks Council was <br />unhappy about certain expenditures over the last few months. Mayor Carmen said that anytime <br />the Finance Director and Department Heads say they do not feel something is in the best interests <br />of the Village and Council does it anyway, something is wrong. He said if Council wants to avn <br />the finances of the Village, they can run them. He said letters will be sent to all vendors advising <br />them that the spending limit will be reduced. <br />Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to adjourn. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m. <br />COU CIL PRESIDE T, LL.IAN M.
