? <br />? <br />11 <br /> <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />1/23/89 <br />Page 11 <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />- Resolution Adopted <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 89-3, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING MARSHALL FORD TO BE THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR THE <br />SALE TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF THREE (3) POLICE CARS, AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT <br />WITH MARSHALL FORD IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND <br />THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($44,388.00) FOR THE PURCHASE <br />OF THE THREE (3) POLICE CARS, REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the <br />Entire Council. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of Council requiring a resolution to be read on three <br />separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to adopt <br />Resolution No. 89-3. <br />Mr. Basile asked how soon we will receive the cars after they are <br />ordered. <br />Chief Stevens said they would be received in 30-60 days. <br />Roll Call: AYES:, Al1 <br />- NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 89-4, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY THE SURCHARGES ASSESSED BY <br />HOUSE BILL N0. 592 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by <br />Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if representatives from Waste Management could be <br />asked to come in to discuss this. <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 89-5, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF POLICE EMBLEMS FOR POLICE UNIFORMS <br />FROM PEERLESS EMBLEM COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND FIVE <br />HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($2,580.00) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of Council requiring a resolution to be read on three <br />separate occasions.
