q?u r(?i \ Special Council Meeting 4/10/89 Page 4 Community Room Mrs. Mills said that she noticed that Hilltop Realty was using the community room today. She said that Council had received a letter from "The Coalition for Efficient Government" stating that they had been denied access to the room. She questioned why Hilltop Realty would be permitted to use the community room but not the other group. Miss Heath said that Mayor Carmen had written a letter to the "Coalition for Efficient Government" which explained that they were permitted to use the room if they paid the standard fee required. Council requested a copy of that letter. Discussion was held regarding the Community Room fee schedule. All Council members present agreed that the fee schedule should be increased to offset a_portion of the expenses of the room (such as the replacement of damaged chairs and tables, and the cleaning of the room.) Council asked Mr. Ramos to prepare legislation to increase the rental fees for use of the community room as follows: The fee for residents would be increased from $50 to $75. The deposit fee would be increased to $75 also. The fee for non-residents would be increased from $75 to$125. The deposit fee would be increased to $125 also. Ti'l nr.lor 11'11-7 Council discussed their personal flower fund (a non-Village fund.) They determined that flowers would be sent if an employee was hospitalized, if an employee or their spouse had a baby, and upon the death of the husband, wife, children, or the parents of an employee or their spouse. A sympathy card would be sent upon the death of an employee's brother or sister. Council agreed to contribute $25 to the fund. As flowers are sent, monies will be deducted from the fund. There being no further business, Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Rinker, made a motion to adjourn.
