<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />8/21/89 <br />Page 14 <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 89-31, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 1(A)(2)9f) AND 1(a)(2)(g) OF ORDINANCE N0. 89-10 PERTAINING TO <br />WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR <br />EMPLOYEES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR COMPENSATION <br />FOR THE POLICE SECRETARY AND RADIO DISPATCHERS REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES <br />INCONSISTENT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor <br />Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mayor Carmen requested that this ordinance be kept on first reading. <br />He said he would like a chance to input to Council on this. <br />*Note: There will be corrections to the minutes pertaining to the <br />action taken on Ordinance No. 89-31. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate <br />occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Rinker <br />. NAYS: None <br />ABSTAIN: Mr. Basile, Mr. Santoro <br />*Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. <br />89-31. <br />Mayor Carmen said that he is opposed to this ordinance because this <br />will be the first time that the Village has ever modified the salary of <br />any employee mid-term. He said that he will veto the legislation if <br />Council goes ahead and enacts it. <br />Mr. Flynn said that he felt there is a discrepancy in respect to the <br />amount of pay the dispatchers and police secretary receive in <br />surrounding communities compared to Mayfield Village. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Rinker <br />NAYS: None <br />ABSTAIN: Mr. Basile, Mr. Santoro . <br />*Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 89-54, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING EAST JORDON IRON WORKS TO BE THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR <br />THE SALE TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF ONE HiJNDRED THIRTY-ONE (131) BICYCLE <br />GRATES, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH EAST JORDON IRON WORKS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED TWELVE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY-SIX DOLLARS AND THIRTY CENTS <br />($12,746.30) FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE (131) <br />BICYCLE GRATES, REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br /> <br />
