The system cuts out in the middle of
transmission. He said he has two bids which compare identical line
items. The lowest bid is from Western Reserve Communications in the
amount of $24,000. This price reflects a price increase in the amount
of $463. Chief Mohr said he has not received the other bids in writing
yet and he is not sure that those proposals are making an "apples to
apples" comparison. It wiii take 6-8 weeks to get the console after it
is ordered.
Mr. Flynn asked if Council wanted to wait until the next Caucus before
making a decision.
Chief Stevens said they are in the middle of trying to compare informal
bids.
Mr. Rinker, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to amend the agenda
to include a resolution accepting a bid from Western Reserve
Communications for the purchase of a fire/police radio console from
Western Reserve Communications in the amount of $24,000.
Mr. Ramos stated the title for the legislation: "Resolution No. 89-67,
entitled; A RESOLUTION DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FIRE/POLICE RADIO CONSOLE
FROM WESTERN RESERVE COMMUNICATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $24,000." He said
the legislation could be passed in title only this evening. The
resolution will include an explanation that this is being done on an
informal bid basis because of the emergency nature.
Snow Plowing - Mr. Amendola said he prepared a set of sample
specifications; a copy was given to Mayor Carmen.'
Mrs. Mills said she felt Council could discuss this at Caucus. Maybe
the advertisement for bids could be placed as soon as the districts are
determined so we could get the bids in.
Mr. Amendola and Miss Heath to determine the number of residents that
participated in the program last year.
LaFrance Fire Engine - Chief Mohr will put the old fire truck out for
bids.
- Storm Run-off Retention Basins - Mr. Hovancsek said he recommends that
`Council approve legislation requiring all developers of land to install
,•, detention facility on the property to minimize downstream flooding.
+ The communities of Westlake and North Royalton have such legislation.
