INFORMAL DETAILED NOTES
SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL
FOR WORKSHOP PURPOSES
Page 5
Paragraph 18 - Mr. Busa: Why by the Recreation Board? Thinks it should be the
Mayor.
Mr. Basile: First-come, first-served.
Paragraph 19 - Mr. Busa: It worries him to bind future Councils.
Paragraph 20 - Mr. Rinker: Talks about notice provisions for formal notificarion.
Mayor Pietrafese: Thinks we should vote as to pursuing this--what's your pleasure?
Mr. Fixer: If you are given a choice whether to purchase the golf course or pursue the
plan, he thinks this is a viable alternative. However, he would like Council to think about
and discuss some of the points about the golf course as a whole whether they make the
decision to pursue or not.
Mr. Busa: This is a fine proposal as far as it is written. We have in our employ a fine
attorney and why not suggest a counter proposal?
Mr. Rinker: Council needs to go over various points with counsel. If Mayor Pietrafese
wants a straw vote--he hopes we would agree if we want to pursue and see what they can
modify. Thinks with the input from counsel they should be able to proceed. Several
Council members have said they agreed they should give it consideration.
Mr. Flynn: There should be discussion with the attorneys.
Mayor Fietrafese: Thinks some things must explicidy be put in here.
Mr. Fixler: What is the next course of action? If there an option of not doing anything?
Mayor Pietrafese: Does not think that is an option. Mr. LaConte will be in town in a
week.
Mr. Rinker: Based on discussions with Mr. Gavin, counsel, and to give Mr. Toth a chance
to look at it; they must look at the general commitment we have made to this type of
agreement. Thinks we must look very seriously at this.
Mr. Fixler: What ltind if development could be put on the golf course if we did not pursue
eminent domain?
Mr. Rinker: We have discussed that point; it is not just what is or is not going to be
?developed on this golf course.
?
Mrs. Cinco: As Councilpersons we want to be part of negotiarions; we did not see this
proposal in print until2 weeks ago. Something that caught her eye is under #2 -- their
desire to be able to continue to operate--point 4 talks about selling it so that it can be
developed.
