Cinco, Mr. Rinker
Also Present Were: Mayor Pietrafese, Mr. Diemert, Mr. Toth, and Miss Heath
In the absence of Council President Rinker and Council President Pro Tem Joanne Cinco, Mayor
Pietrafese called the meeting to order at eight o'clock a.m.
Mayor Fietrafese said this meeting was called to discuss pending litigation and any other matter that
may come before Council. He asked if anyone had any other matter to bring up before they went
into Executive Session.
Mr. Fixler said he would like to bring up the fireworks again. He said he is concerned because
this is our first time doing something with another community and he did not want to be
embarrassed. Whatever we could do to make a more spectaculaz show--he is looking for
suggestions and would Council to take another look at that
Mr. Ferrante said we had a pretty spectaculaz display last year; he thought it was excellent. Based
on the comments made by the Mayor to Council he thinks Council was told since we moved from
the 4th to the Sth we would be able to get more value and a better display for the same money.
That is what he is basing his objection to.
Mr. Fixler said that Gates Mills sent around a letter that says Mayfield Village will spend what they
typically spend and with the addition of our funds it will be a spectacular display. He wants to
make sure it will be a spectacular display.
Mr. Flynn said he read the summary that said we would spend our usual $5,000; now it is turned
around. Discussion was held.

Mayor Pietrafese said at a previous meeting he said we would spend $5,000 and he also tried to
clarify that in the summary. He said he talked to Mayor Collister on Tuesday. Mayor Collister
asked if they could have a representative attend our Architectural Review Board meeting but with
very little input- just to bring back information. Mayor Collister said he would guarantee $2,500;
hopefully it would be more with resident donarions. Mayor Pietrafese said he had hoped we could
go back to Gates Mills next year and ask them to pay half and they would be more receptive to
doing so.
