??15
Regular Council IVleeting
7/20/92
Page Nine
Mr. Fenante, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a moriori to enact Ordinance No. 92-28.
Mr. Rinker said Mr. Fenante took this variation of the previous legislation.
Mr. Ferrante read the change (in the second pazagraph on the front page of the ordinance.) He
explained there is no reason for anyone to be concerned about a problem; if they have a situation
that needs immediate attenrion. He said the ordinance should read "between $1,500 and $2,500".
Mayor Pietrafese said he takes great offense to Mr. Ferrante making a second attempt to curtail his
spending. He feels it has not been abused and it has been monitored more now than in the past 8
years. There has not been any attempt on his part to abuse the $2,500 spending limit.
Mr. Rinker said he appreciates Mr. Ferrante's trying to make the adjustment to the original
ordinance but the underlying premise is that there is a mistrust in the Mayor's spending limit. Mr.
Rinker said he does not think this is the way to articulate whatever problem there may be.
Discussion was helii about the amendment.
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to amend Ordinance No. 92-28 to include "up
to a maximum of $2,500.00" at the end of the second paragraph.
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, and
Mr. Rinker
NAYS: Mr. Flynn Motion Carried
Ordinance Amended
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 92-28 as amended.
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler
NAYS: Mr. Busa, Mr. Flynn, and Mr. Rinker
Motion Cazried
Ordinance Enacted
.
